Staff Training
A minimum of two weeks classroom induction-training course is required for all new recruits; this covers the basic duties of a security officer and includes:
- Reporting various types
- Security patrolling and checking
- Health and Safety responsibilities
- Some elements of basic civil and criminal law.
- Identification of fire hazards and fire fighting.
- Powers of arrest and custody.
- Handling of major indents: fire evacuation procedures, crowd control.
- Use of radio communications equipment.
- Electronic security – Intruder, fire, access control and CCTV systems.
- Handing over/Taking over procedures.
On-Site training will cover
- Knowledge of the site and the client’s security requirements.
- Building knowledge and location of fire / emergency exit doors.
- Fire fighting systems and their operation.
- Location and type of fire extinguishers.
- Exact responsibilities and procedures in the event of a fire.
- Evacuation procedures.
- Custody and control of keys
- Number and type of security patrol checks o be carried out by the security officers during the period of duty.
- Location of any hazardous/flammable materials and high-risk areas.
- All other aspects of security and safety peculiar to your premises.
In addition to this, comprehensive Assignment Instructions will be prepared after consultation and agreement with your Company. These will cover every aspect of security and safety and will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
The Assignment Instructions will also be used as a training aid for both classroom and on-site training to ensure that the Security Officers are familiar with their duties from contract commencement.
